Cinematic Short Films for DHBW Mannheims’s 50-Year Celebration
As part of a university project, our 26-member course team produced four short films for the Night of the Graduates 2024, celebrating 50 years of DHBW Mannheim. The event took place at the Rosengarten in Mannheim, where the films premiered in front of a large audience and were accompanied by live music from the SAP Symphony Orchestra.
The films followed the journey of DHBW students traveling through five decades of university history, capturing emotional and humorous moments. A golden, self-writing book became the narrative thread connecting the different eras, creating a magical and memorable storyline.
In this project, I worked as a camera operator and contributed to the planning phase by helping shape the storylines with detailed shot compositions and character development. Using a Sony FS7, I was responsible for capturing a wide range of scenes across various locations in Mannheim and Landau.
The project taught me how to work effectively in large-scale productions and strengthened my ability to visually shape a film within a collaborative environment. The positive audience feedback and on-stage recognition during the premiere made this an unforgettable experience.
